1.1 Welcome!

In this part of the video, I talk about myself and our English class. I’ll share about where I come from, my experience teaching, and living in Korea. I’ll stress the importance of getting used to online learning and give some tips for doing well in our class. We’ll have different kinds of activities like speaking, listening, writing, interviews, presentations, and tests. My goal is to make our class both educational and fun. I’ll explain how your grade will be calculated based on things like participating, doing homework, giving presentations, coming to class, and taking tests. The grading system is meant to be fair and help you get better at English. It would be great if you could join our group for more communication and info. I stress how important it is to come to class because it makes up 25% of your grade. We’ll check attendance every day, and if you miss more than five days, you might fail unless you have a note from a doctor or the dean. This website can help keep track of attendance and participation. It’s really important to join in during class and do your homework to learn better. For the midterm, you’ll have a one-on-one talk about what we’ve learned. You’ll also do presentations alone and in groups. At the end of the semester, there’ll be a big test on everything we covered. If you need to talk to me, just reach out, and I’ll give you your first homework in our group.
